The Comet dart was designed and made by Frank Lowy who Patented the design of the dart in 1937. He started the company with just £6!

The Comet darts were initially distributed by Wisden then Lowy took over distribution when Wisden pulled out and Unicorn was born.

I like the look of those - is the Wisden you mention anything to do with the cricket bible?

I managed to get a set of Silver Comets a couple of days back and they arrived this morning - the box is different to yours though, it's a John Wisden box and it doesn't have the US patent no on it:

Yeah the Wisden are the ones that were first distributed before Unicorn started to distribute them, I think I may have bid on those too, but they went a bit high I think, its nice to have an original set though.

These have always been one of my favourates. a classy dart., I see Unicorn have started reproducing them in their heritage set, even the boxes look the same, but I assume on closer inspection there must be some difference, otherwise it could get a bit confusing. though if you have a set of comets in need of the art deco style flights it's quite handy that they are also selling them.

i like both sets look at them stems dont make them like that any more and a screw on cap
