Looking for a sponsor Empty
PostSubject: Looking for a sponsor   Looking for a sponsor EmptyTue Aug 14, 2012 1:57 am

Saw lions post and decided i'd steal the idea

Good afternoon,

I writing with a request I understand you must get often. I'm a young dart player, aspiring to turn professional and looking for sponsorship. I've been playing close to eight years now.
I currently play superleague dart's and I'm averaging around 95 per three darts. Christian Kist won this years B.D.O world championship with a similar three dart average.
I have a three year plan for darts, which I will outline below.

Year one. Gain experience playing on the professional circuit, by the end of this year I aim to be ranked in the top 100 in the B.D.O. I also plan on qualifying for atleast one televised event.

Year two. Continue to compete in the B.D.O circuit. By the end of this year I aim to be ranked in the top 30. I plan on qualifying for the Lakeside world championships aswell.

Year three. At the start of this year I plan on entering the P.D.C Q school competition, gaining myself a P.D.C tour card and ending the year ranked in the top 100 of the P.D.C order of merit.

I try to play in as many competitions as possible but unfortunately my current financial circumstances don't allow me to play as many as I'd like. My acheivements this yearare as follows.

Placed in the top 16 of the Nuneaton Classic 2012.

Placed in the top 16 of the Rileys Coventry Uk Open qualifiers 2012

fox please dont be offended by what i am going to say but last week you were averaging in the 50s even on the bdo circuit your not going to win games with that Sad when i joined the forum you were chucking 22g chizzys darts and if i am not mistaken you misssed d12 for a 9 darter with those ? my advice would be go buy another set of 22g chizzy darts and hit the practice board get because you were always happy chucking them when i first joined the forum

dont be offended but what i am saying because i am hoping me having a rant will help you out in the long run ??

You're right lion i was avg in the 50's last week. I was also throwing 22g chizzys and did miss the double for a 9 darter with them. Iv recently picked up a set of the darts I used before the chizzys and Im playing better than I did with the chizzys with a 12 dart leg last night. Im getting back to the form i was at before avging around 85 again.

I am assuming the main point of sponsorship is to pay for travel expenses mostly, and a little bit for equipment.
I wonder if we might be able to pick one person who is a) most committed and b) has shown the highest level of play and ability, and as a group provide them with sponsorship...at least until they can get a real major sponsor.

Maybe one of the Majors would even pitch in at that point? (Target?)

Just a thought...
