always follow through with a handshake...its an easy way to tell if your following through (when you finish releasing the dart make sure your hand is pointed at the target as if you were shaking hands).

quick question- i hold the dart at the back of the barrel and grip it with my middle finger and thumb only, i also "flick" the dart as i release it. I dont know if this is wrong but it just feels "natural". Ive tried using more conventional grips but it seems like i cant even hit the board when i do. The concern for the way i "flick" the dart is that im not always throwing the same speed. Yesterday i was throwing line drives and today lobs. Any advice or suggestions? oh, also the darts are stabilized out of my hand, something i cant do with other grips.

I wouldn't dare suggest that you change your grip. If it feels natural to you then "thats your grip period" the flick if its an Alligator arm (not following through) now that in my opinion and others of better expertise than mine is something you need to work on. You can become quite good flicking but as a quote from George Silverzahn author of Darts beginning to End you will never live where the top shooters are. That being said I highly suggest you join Flight School ( its free) and buy the book. The site is below in my signature. If what you describe is finger wrist drive at the end of your follow through than this is a different kettle of stew and is desirable. Best ya sign up my friend.
