| Subject: Ow!! My Back!! Sun Sep 09, 2012 9:47 pm | |
| I recently noticed that my back was starting to get sore from playing darts, so I decided to stop leaning, which I also thought would have the added bonus of making me more stable! My back however, is still getting sore, and after a longer session is actually affecting my throw.
Any advice? I am tall so I sway a lot, and I do carry a bit of heft around the midriff so I suspect these could also be factors, as could minor adjustments to my delivery introducing new muscles that weren't used before to something as simple as me not being relaxed enough!
Very much looking to the wisdom and advice of everyone here. |

| Excessive leaning can be a cause, but been tall and a bit overweight will add to the discomfort.
I think stance is one of the more important things to get right because you need to be steady but also comfortable. Do you stand side on or with a foot forward stance and toes straight or at 45degrees? |

| hmmm is the pain in one side or centre back, I used to stand side on but would get pain in my knee, so I had to change to a front foot forward stance, but I dont have much of a lean either. |

Lower centre back. Could it be as simple as needing more warm up? |

| well you could try altering your stance a little, but it could be just as you say a muscle that is getting used to a new movement but a little bit of warming up and light stretching certainly wont harm. |
