| Was just curious what kind of practice aids every one uses? Do they help?
I bought a dart deck of cards last year, totally silly. Saw an advertisement for Eric Bristow's Practice rings, and made my self a set at home out of painters tape and wire. They seem to have helped me alot.
Was curious if any one has ever tried the voks mosquitos? Are they a worth while investment? |

| Believe it or not, I use video as a practice tool.
If I can hit big shoots while the camera is rolling, then I should be able to hit
the same shots under pressure of a real game against a human.
Not sure if it works or not, but I'm now used to the camera rolling. |

| I have the voks mosquitoes but I dont really use them as a practice aid, I honestly cant see the benefit of them for that purpose.
But I ordered the Practice Rings, which I could easily make myself but I wanted to try those anyway.
I also have some Dk Darts Practice Sheets, but I am using those mainly for recording purposes.
Apart from that there is nothing else I use really.
One thing I have started to to which I think Rumandcork said was to throw a set of 9 darts instead of 3, that way you have more time to be consistent with your throw. I think its a good tip but would work best if I had 3 sets the same. |

They are a set of darts. They are only 4 or 5g, and the theory is if you can throw them so they stick in the board then you are throwing correctly - if they don't stick in then you aren't lol. Instead of the practise rings I cut circles out of foam sheets and use those for grouping practise - a lot cheaper at around £5 for 50 sheets which give me 4 or 5 different sized circles. It's worth trying something like this to see if they help before you decide on buying the Bristow rings |

| I will place chalk marks on the board and shoot at them. |

| I have used the cards before. I think it was called double trouble. A friend and I used to play, we would deal each other 10 cards and the winner was the one that hit the numbers on their cards and got rid of them. Trick was not to hit something that was on your mates cards cos it would count for him. lol |

| I use the ring binder strengthener rings, the ones that you put on either side of the holes on an A4 piece of paper. Place these round the board and try and hit inside each one. I know their small in size but it's a great way of improving accuracy and gets you focusing on a particular part of a segment.
I tend to do the Flightschool segment training first to get used to hitting the segments and then put the rings directly in the centre of the segments so that you are aiming for the dead centre of segments. This I find does help with grouping and avoids those pesky slips into 1's and 5's more often.
Also put some over the Trebles and Doubles when doing the Flightschool routines. |
