All over Twitter and other forums. Allegations that he was sending erotic pictures of himself to a friends 15 year old girl with special needs.

Tony West has been very vocal about it claiming to be friends of the family and saying it is 100% true, and claiming Jelle was cheating on his girlfriend regularly. He also claims Jelle has admitted it. A Dutch newspaper will run the story tomorrow.

We must stress that this is Allegedly though because as of yet no prosecution has taken place.

If it's true - which it looks like it is - then his darts career is over as Uncle Barry won't touch him with a barge pole

Just read this on another forum. Along with what is alleged to be a public apology by Klassen. If true then as per the above, his career as a Professional Darts Player will be over.

One thing I would add though is that I would expect that the Wests will probably find themselves in trouble for their comments. I'm not taking sides here, but they are members of the PDC, and I think that by them basically posting threats on Twitter (public domain) to another player could bring the PDC into disrepute - hardly what I would call Professional. We'll see though.

I saw the apology posted elsewhere as well - Stars of Darts forum for me lol - so it doesn't look too good for him hence my comment. Also, not sure when it happened - may have been a while ago - but Klaasen's website has been taken offline.


I totally agree on the West's though - the DRA will have a field day with them and I reckon they will end up with fines and bans whether the Klaasen allegations are true or not.

MIND BLOWN at all this........ totally shocking news.

As for the Wests, they would do well to settle down and stop making death threats, the DRA will have a field day with them.

The Dutch Matador Jelle Klaasen, a former Lakeside World Champion is under investigation for alleged indecent exposure.

The darter from Breda was interrogated by police on Tuesday after he had sent nude photos to a 15-year-old girl with a mental disability.
“I would like to apologise to everyone, I made a mistake and I’m too far gone and I’m sorry,”

He gives in his statement that he knows the girl in a while, the girl would itself also contact him searched. “But I’m so stupid to go into here, and that I should not have. I deeply ashamed and regret it very much that I have been so stupid, but unfortunately I can not turn back.”

Rumours quickly spread throughout the social media world but where later believed true.

If Jelle is found guilty of such acts, The 2006 World Champion should not be recognised in future for such achievements.

If found not guilty, Jelle deserves a chance to radeem his career.




Seems the chances of being found innocent are slim to none as he has admitted it and apologised. Shocking news.

Funny thing on twitter I seen yesterday seemed directed at Dave Chisnall saying something about him been a big bully for hitting a woman, it was a weird tweet as there was no reply or previous comment, but it was on his on twitter page, cant find it now though???

He will get punished through the courts and if found guilty....which he will, that will be his punishment. Drugs cheats in cycling and athletics get to return to their sport and earn a living. I think he should be punished, but then be free to return to darts....there are other darts players with previous sexual offence convictions that play In the pdc. But what he did was despicable and he has totally lost my support.

Unfortunate news, I feel sorry for him and the victim. But I agree with Bov, once he serves his sentence if convicted, he should be allowed to go back to the sport. No sense taking away a person's livelihood. But it would be very tough for him to put this experience away and perform well in darts, especially that he lost fans and endorsements.

But I do recall that Phil Taylor and Chris Mason have been convicted of crimes, as well. The two seem to have put their experiences behind and are still in the darts scene.

Klaasen's future will depend on how he conducts himself during any investigation and how he picks himself up. Good luck to him

the days coming will determine this man's future

He may go back into darts but with any crime or alleged crime involving youngsters I very much doubt he will have an easy time from the fans, so I think he will be finished.

As far as comparing him with Mason and Taylor goes. Aside from murder, I think Taylor could get away with almost anything and still come out looking whiter than white, just because of who he is. after all, regardless of the facts around it and whether or not he did what was alleged, he was put on the sex offenders list, and other than losing him the MBE that he was put forward for, it has not affected his career.

Mason on the other hand, I think his convictions were assault related, and as a result, SKY wont touch him with a very long pole. He does some pundit work for ITV but that's it.

This thing with Klassen is different though, offences involving minors are looked at by the general public in a completely different light.

I can see that he probably wouldn't struggle to get back into pro darts if he wanted to, however, I cant see him getting sponsors to easily, and from what we have already seen (albeit from a pair of morons), I don't think his peers will be too eager to embrace him again. Really cant imagine seeing him in darting world again to be honest!!

To be fair the Taylor thing was completely different and years ago!! He was caught in a compromising position with 2 x 20 year old Blondes just after winning his 1st World title. To be honest and frank, if I'd just Won a World Title and 2 x 20 year old blondes want to go back to my caravan I can assure you it would only be for one thing and not just because they wanted to chat with me!!

Come on, anyone can see that afterwards they'd thought they'd make some money by selling their stories. Taylor unfortunately got caught in the middle, prosecuted and charged with indecent assault for feeling them up.

Questions that come to mind are:-

1) Why would 2 pretty little Blonde things want to go back to a caravan with a middle aged overweight man that has lots of money?

2) Why, when there are 2 of them, can they not between them sort him out? Surely, he can only be forcing himself onto 1 of them at any one time? The other can just slap on the head with a stick or something, couldn't she?

3) Why when they were apparently sexually assaulted didn't they report it straight away? Apparently they waited 3 days before reporting it, is this an act of someone who's been assaulted, especially when there were 2 of them?

It's not a case of sticking up for Taylor, it's a case that unfortunately every sportsman and woman or celeb that has ever had a "fling" has to put up with. Look at the Prince Harry saga going on now!!

We are all human and things happen.

As far as Klassen then if indeed it's true and it looks like it is, then he deserves everything that gets thrown at him. Pedophiles have no room in the World as far as I'm concerned.
