| Wow, it's not often you join a forum and receive not only a welcome thread - but multiple welcomes aswell! Well, hello everyone. My name's Jon and I'm a 30yo Scotsman living in Dublin, Ireland - I believe I'm the only Rangers supporter in Dublin, but that's a conversation for another day! I started playing darts in 2004 as way of helping my Dad kick start his social life - poor guy was working Taxis 7 nights per week, he always loved darts and as he used to play - we joined a team back in Scotland. Played there consistently for around 2 years with 27g - loved it. I ended up moving away from the area, he continued on - I moved to being a bedroom only player. Having since left the country and married a wonderful Irish woman, I started taking an interest in the TV tournaments in the last 2 years, and this past Christmas, the Mrs got me a Blade4, Winmau Surround and some darts. Man, the bug caught me good! I've been practising around 45 mins per day ever since(and 2 hours on a Sunday evening), and have made a transition from 27g up to 29g, down to 25g, down again to 23g before settling on 21g - which is what I throw today. I may even go lighter, but I think maybe I should be trying my 21g with a better grip (Currently Using the Gary Anderson Unicorns here) before I move again - as that's maybe my only current gripe - but not sure. Love the game, love the game so much - won't ever give it up again. I average around 70 in my 2 hour Sunday night session, but still feel that my stance is a bit off - I could be better, maybe even get real good but I have so much tweaking to do first before I want to get back into the live scene again. Anyways, I found this site searching for reviews of the new Unicorn Eclipse HD! Looks to be an incredible site that I definitely see myself enjoying being part of. ... and if the site's admin ever fancies a facelift - I'm a fully qualified web designer that would be delighted to help, even though I get the impression that the community spirit here is the real magic, not the looks! Thanks for the incredible welcome!

| Hi again Jon! it is so nice when a new member posts it makes us feel our efforts at encouragement are worthwhile! Sounds like you will fit right in here as you are really enthusiastic by the sounds of it, we are all friendly here and love our darts to bits regardless of our ability. You have had quite a journey already with your darts selection process, it can be a nightmare trying to settle on one set an I'm probably the worse for it LOL! Glad you found the site and hope you will continue to enjoy it, and we may want to take your offer up at some point, its always handy to have people with such skills willing to help! |

| Wanderlei Silva, when he was the most feared man on the planet.
Unfortunately, age was his toughest opponent. |

Unfortunately, age was his toughest opponent. Father time is unbeatable unfortunately, but the Axe Murderer still has a lesson or two to teach a few wiper snappers coming through thinking they know everything. I saw today that his father died in a car crash a few days ago. |
