heres mine i push with my thumb and squeeze my middle finger up against the nose the first finger just lays on top with no pressure . i started using medium stems as the flight was resting on the back of my hand and as a bonus i found my darts land almost level in the board.they look a bit daft now though as it's a long dart i'm using at with the barrel at 56.3mm they stick right out the top of my case lol. got my wondering though as i've heard the maximum length for a dart overall is 300mm ? is there even anything avalible like that and would you need a bow to get it to the board [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

How do you grip your dart when throwing? I notice a lot of variations, and wonder what the benefits to each one may be. Just curious, I myself hold it near the back, using my thumb and forefinger, with my middle finger underneath to balance it.

Hope it's the right section; in the pic you'll see how I grip darts (hope the quality is ok cause i shoot with the other hand with my cellphone). Can I have an opinion? Is it ok or I can improve that? (I'm sure I have to).

Just pick up the dart and throw it. The way you hold the dart when you first pick it up is the right way. If what is showing in the picture is how you naturally grip the dart, have at it and enjoy !!

I agree with david. There aren't really any wrong ways to grip your dart. I'm sure there are ways that allow for more immediate improvements in your throw and game but doing what is comfortable and, more importantly, being consistent is what you should focus on. Happy throwing

Yeah there is no right or wrong way only suggestions, but at the end of the day it is what feels most comfortable and natural to you.
It is often recommended to old the barrel near the balance point but not set in stone really.
Some players barely hold the barrel anyway, so if it feels right for you then its ok.
At a later date you may want to tweak things or experiment but usually your first natural grip is the best.
