| How much do you need top warm up before you feel you're ready for a serious match?
League for example. How much do you need to warm up before playing?
Are you one of those guys that get out of the car, walks in the bar at the last minute and is ready for battle?
Or do you need to get there a 1/2 hour early and start throwing to get loosened up?
I've always been one of those ones to show up early and start playing before anyone else gets there.
Just recently though, I've been playing at this Bosnian restaurant/bar right down the street and the very second I walk in the place
my buddies are throwing coins in the board telling me play. They've already been playing for awhile.
But ya know what? I've had some of my best games ever lately by NOT warming up.
Very weird.
Anyway, let's hear it. What do you guys do?

| I used to like to have a mini session on the board before the match began but found this in my case to be counter productive because i analysed things too much , Before i leave home i may have 10 minutes on the board but once in the pub i wont get the darts out of the case until the game before mine , Then i hold them to warm them up for some reason lol

| It's been bad for me. Can take a half hour to warm up. Trying to bring that time down to 10 minutes if possible. Same if I don't play for an hour then get thrown in a match, im screwed usually. That's why a practice board is a much at matches IMO |

| One of the drawbacks about soft tip in some bars I used to play league at.
Only one or 2 machines available and usually teams playing on both.
So when it's my turn to play I start the match cold.
Hate that!!! |

| I would usually like to have an hour or so at home before I head out to the match and then just have a few throws throughout the night to keep loose and get my eye in. |

| I've found I have 4 stages of effectiveness. I'm good dead cold walking into the bar when my arm is still tight. After about 30 min or so, my arm kind of feels like an old rubber band and I'm too loose for another 30 min or so. Then it gets tighter and I'm good again for a couple hours. After about 3-4 hours, my arm's worn out and I struggle. It's a bit problematic in league play. If I don't get a good hour in before the match, I hit that too loose stage during my middle two games. |

| I usually like 10 mins at least to warm up. Mainly just to get the arm moving. |

| I`ll go through a routine at home first. I play Bobs 27, then round the board on doubles. A few sets of 301 dido then a few sets of 501 straight..... Go to bar, throw 9 darts and I`m ready to rock and roll. |

| I used to get to the bar and throw for and hour or so against anyone that would play me to warm up. I have dwindled down my practice routine, however. Now, I just kind of screw around and don't even aim, just throw a few to get my arm back in the motion (plus the goofing off for a little bit seems to be the perfect buffer between the stresses of school/work to getting into the mood to throw) then I throw at every cricket number on the board until I hit the treble, and at bull until i hit the double. If I still have time and am bored, I throw a game of 170 with myself, and throw that until I get it in 6 darts or less. After that, I just go smoke and goof off and catch up with everyone until league starts |

| My warm up normally consists of 3 or 4 beers Most teams in our league only have one board up so theres no where to practice before your game! County's a different story, theres always plenty boards to practice on and i'll normally have half an hour or so (in ten minute bursts) on the practice board before i play |
