I have always used standards and sometimes kite flights. For about a week now I have given the Pears a chance and I really like them and grouping much, much better. I see much more of the treble if I have another dart in the treble. My darts have always landed flight up no matter what I use and is the same with the pears. I do get more flight pop offs because my grouping is much better though. My set up is 26gm McCoy Sabers with inbetween fit gear stems spinners. I have some short stems coming but have the feeling that this particular set up is more to my liking. However will give the shorts a chance. I had a set of shorts but (not gear) broke every one in just one practice session. My floor is tile and regular fit stems (shorts) just couldn't handle the bounce outs. BTW I use to use board grippers with tridents but have switched to 30mm Target Storms and for now a happy camper. Thats my 2 cents worth.

I'm not sure I like them really, think I need a bigger flight, when I tried pears my darts seemed to drop a lot lower.

My darts land perpendicular but when I use ANY other flight other than standards they land point up, so unless I`m hitting the bottom wire of the T20 or below it then I`ll need to switch as the bed will be blocked. I am very happy with the angle that my darts land so I don`t bother trying to change the set up. But if its working for you then more power to you.

Have you thought about trying the over-sized pears? |

not tried them Fox, never thought about it, have a few flight shapes to try still, don't think I have any oversize pears though.

Used to use either pear or kite flights before moving on to Cosmo's - tried their normal pear flights and hated them, but have tried the Air pears recently and they fly quite well.

I really thought that I was on to something but alas it comes down to focus, concentration and meaningful practice in the end.

True Larry but I think the size of the flight affects its floatiness or lack of, so it depends on your style of throw too, but I think Standards suit me best.

I used pears for some time before I switched to slims. For some reason, I felt they change the speed of the darts in midair, slowing down as they hit the board. So I was lobbing my shot to compensate for the drop. When I switched to slims, they were more to my liking as the speed was more consistent and I wasn't lobbing the dart much.
