Just wondering what or who will be ranked?

the ranking system is kind of already in place, its just that we have not clicked on the on button to show the ranks.

If you look underneath where it shows how many posts you have, there is points.

Points are gained from making posts, making threads, getting thanks or + reps from other members and I think for other things like posting pics etc.

I think there is an option to also set how the points are awarded and how many.

Now I dont know if Andy originally decided to keep the ranks off for the reasons some have already stated in the Poll Thread, but we thought we would have a fun system just for fun it does not mean one member is better than an other.

how are thanks given or calculated...

well if you make a reply to someone who posts in a thread you made I think the thanks button shows up, we can set the amount I think, but I think it is +3 rep points.

Its for threads like when you may ask for help with something.

Duh, I still don't get it , help me out. Are you referring to the + & - signs or something else altogether re thanks?

I thought those signs were for if ya liked or disliked a post then ya hit one and it affected their rep or points. I been trying to get you down to zero cause yer avatar always distracts me from concentrating enough to understand your post LOL

All I can think about is giving the lass a carrot.

Just joking about the points to get ya going for the day!

the rank is not shown at present, but the points that help to make up ranks is. Rep points are like you say given with the + and - buttons and also with the thanks button.

But the points system is what determines the ranks.
