Steve Beaton on the PDPA Practice Board

I believe in this day and age, practice on the board is only a part of what’s required to reach the top, your lifestyle is becoming more and more important as we strive to be at the top of our game and the game of darts.

I go to the gym most days (running, cycling, weights & swimming).

I play golf once a week.

I think fitness definitely plays an important part in the game these days.



I practice for a whole hour everyday, I have a stop clock to make sure as I’ve never been big on practicing for hours.

I try to eat healthy, lots of fish, chicken, vegetables & salads, of course this is easier when you are at home as it’s not so easy when you are at tournaments.

One hour a day !!!!!!! for a Pro, surely that isn't enough to keep you at the top.

Taylor practices a lot more than 1 hour!

The standard nowadays is unbelievable, the best ever imo. Taylor is motivated by this & is determined to stay ahead of the rest for as long as is possible.

He's made no secret of the fact that he practiced much more than other players did. However there is no doubt that the penny has dropped with the younger guys and with it the quality has went through the roof. Long may it continue.

True I think Taylor has been the one responsible for the increase in skill level and dedication, the players are much more professional now the way the treat their careers.
