Are you losing to opponents you should beat ! and why is that? Well if I knew the answer to that I would be playing Phil Taylor and kicking his ass. But there are some things you can do !!!!
Practice smart is my number one suggestions.
Do you just chuck darts at the board randomly ? Wrong, wrong , wrong. Your practice needs to be meaningful to you along with being enjoyable and directed. Awww what does that mean.
well here is an example: Lets say your weak on doubles in general and the bull, Your going around the board on doubles right, okay thats fine but what about this. Shoot double 20 until you hit ,the bull until you hit then double 19,bull,18 bull,17, bull. 16 bull and so on. Its smarter practice. I believe in writting down my routines and check them off after I have done them. My routines for example:
Warm up throwing at the large segments about ten minutes.
large segment groupings usually 15 numbers x 5 hits
around the board doubles
sm segment groupings 11 numbers x 3 hits
A-2 flight school 15 numbers
100 darts at bull ( keep track ya hits)
100 darts at 20's (keep track ya hits)
Now customize your routine to your needs.
Theres 2 types of practice IMHO : 1. solo , and I mean strickly by yourself
2. Against team mates and any one else
One with out the other and your only practicing 50%
I can beat players who have more natural ability and lots younger (thats every body lol) because I practice harder and smarter. Solo I work on my weaknesses, against team mates and others I apply what I have been doing in solo got it !
If your on a team practice against the best player, if your the best player on the team try and practice against the best league players.
Watch the best players throw, learn your outs, practice smart !
So stop just chucking at the board and think about what you need. If your smart join Flight School which will give you direction you may need.
