| Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a while so decided to join.
I'm 31, live in North Herts/South Cambs. Used to play a lot when at school and college (although I was never any good) and have just started playing again. I'm still just as good as I was before, despite not picking up a dart in 10 years (i.e. rubbish) but enjoy the game anyway. |

Welcome aboard mate, I am hopeless at darts LOL but I still enjoy it and find many aspects other than playing competitively that keeps me interested. - NuttyDarter wrote:

Looks like your doing quite well so far mate! Cheers getagrip, thanks for the warm welcome! Yeah I have been playing quite well considering I have only just started to get back into it in recent weeks, think my brother is more impressed at how quickly I have picked it up than myself TBH as he hasnt seen the hours and hours of practice I have been putting in on my own board in these few weeks I have been playing. For me it's all about the BEEF - Balance, Eyes, Elbow and Follow-through! I follow this religiously and am playing for at least a hour a day (3+ hours a day at the mo though!) and my game has greatly improved. |

LOL I like your BEEF! I heard BEEF when I was in school from an American basketball coach. I have found it has helped me with quite a few sports over the years.... tennis, golf and darts being the most recent. I plan to practice every day for 1 year, then will look at how my game is doing before setting myself another Target/Goal. Probably will try to join a pub team or maybe even enter a small comp or 2 but thats months away from now, just reading and learning as much as poss for now. |

| How are you taking the pics Nutty, with a mobile?
You could check them in a photo editing software first and if the wrong way you just rotate the image and save any changes.
If its your mobile then it may be some setting you can change on that. |

| Hey guys, I'm new to the forum looking to get better and learn the game better!
Anthony Pittsburgh, PA 24 years old
I've been playing for about a year now and I've already played in a few soft tip A leagues, won a few luck of the draws, I know I'm pretty good but I want to get to the next level but I'm having trouble with consistency. One game I can throw triples and 3.00 and the next hit nothing. My friends say I get too frustrated. How do you guys stay calm?
Thanks for any help! |

| welcome to the forum Anthony! May I recommend Flight School to help you better your game. There have been a lot of success stories from our members, myself included, on how Flight School has improved our game on so many different levels. One great part about it is that no matter what your skill level is like or how much time each day/week/month you have to put into darts it is still helpful. Best of all it is 100% free and is organized by an ex-pro dart player. You can find a link explaining where to go and how to sign up HEREBe patient when you first sign up. It can take George up to two weeks to respond to your request. Also, his spam filter has been known to filter out e-mails from people signing up. So, don't be afraid to say something if he doesn't get back to you in a week or two and we can find another way for you to contact him. Good luck and again welcome to the forum. |

| Good to have you here mate. As for the staying calm, I suffered from the same thing and have only been playin for around 2 years now. I was always my worst critic and hurt my game by getting frustrated. that all changed at the n.I open this year. I got through a few rounds and was happy enough how I played but I learnt more by watching a big number of the main b.d.o men fall at the early stages(ended up Daryl Gurney won it). It showed me that not every day will click and not to get annoyed if I'm having an off day. For me its all about finding the sweet spot between relaxing and keeping my competitive edge... |
