what other reason did it not take off? there could be many but if playing others online was its USP then thats one reason.
Cant say people dont make an art of cheating with online games, the games consoles are rife with it. I know a lot of people who stopped playing games online because of cheats, software companies do there best to stamp it out and its improved but still happens.

I'm guessing price. Touch screen, massive stereo.
They can't be cheap. Take a lot of quarters to pay for that thing.
