1930's Dorwins by markbrindza, on Flickr

This is a rare and unusual set of Dorwins. Brass barrel, aluminum shaft with wood and four feather flights. I never seen a set with all these different components on one dart. They weigh 18 grams and fly pretty good.

Nice darts, I've never seen a set of Dorwins like it before. Could the flights possibly a later addition?

The top of the aluminum shaft has a thread and so does the dowl for the feathers to screw in. The shafts do have Dorwin printed on them. Looks legit.

Curious then, wonder if someone modified the alloy part to take the wood shafts, if not then they are not neatly matched to the alloy part there is a bit of a lip. Smile

Hard to say, I have some other old darts from around the 30's with a similiar set up on the wooden dowel. They don't match up the greatest either. The darts are very small and are well worn. These are not likely the original fethers because there is no way they would hold up for as much as these darts were used. Unless this guy like to keep his darts spread apart on the board. These little guys fly great so if someone did cutomize them he did a good job.
