Bottelsen Hammerhead Devastors Empty
PostSubject: Bottelsen Hammerhead Devastors   Bottelsen Hammerhead Devastors EmptyThu Sep 06, 2012 10:46 pm

Received these in the post from Mattsan yesterday. Thought I'd get a quick review done.

Whats in the box?

The darts come in a very nice, although standard from bottelsen, Sharkskin case. Inside you find your darts, two spare sets of stems, two sets of Hammerhead flights and your point tool.
The case is very well made and practical for any set of darts and a few sets of spares.

The Dart

The darts themselves are very well made, as you'd expect for a £90 set of arrows. With a very nice knurled grip, with a small section of razor grip at the back makes them a very grippy dart, I'd say around a level 3/4.

How do they fly?
They fly very nicely indeed, within 10 minutes of throwing them I'd had a few 140's and a max. Not my usual style of dart but I feel I could easily get used to them.
The movable point system these darts use is something I'm unsure about. I have had a few bounce out's which this system is supposed to prevent. It does make the dart pretty difficult to pull from the board aswell, I nearly put my shoulder out the first throw as I wasn't expecting them to stick in so well.

In all a very nice, but expensive dart. If bottelsen made these a little cheaper I'd definitely invest in a set.

Nice one Fox! they are nicely made darts for sure, but the moving point is not to everyones taste. I think Bottelsen would sell more if they were cheaper too. good job

Nice review - and nice looking arrows. Can't say I've ever used a moving point dart before

I hadn't before these Mc, but I don't think there's much call for them anymore.

Can you feel any movement in the moveable points when throwing them?

One of my mates is interested in a set of bottelsen darts but thinks their to expensive to buy as an experiment.

I think there is a loose feeling when I have thrown mine but its never been excessive enough to put me off, what does put me off is that I tend to rest one of my fingers a little on the point and sometimes it moves the point when I am throwing it.

Thanks for the review, fox. I always wanted a Bottelsen for my collection, particularly the Megathrust, but the price puts me off.

+1 for sharing. Very Happy

Brings back memories. That was my first set of "good" darts. Picked them up at a pool table place in Greenbrook that had a nice darts section. old man
